
The Merseyside Black History Month Group Black Achievers Awards is the most prestigious event in the North West for the celebration of the achievements of members of the Merseyside black community.The awards presented are sponsored by key public and private sectors partners.
The 2011 awards event was held at St George's Hall, Liverpool, on October 29th. The main act for the 2011 Black Achievers Awards was Alexander O'Neal. Blessed with an incredibly powerful voice and the ability to bring out the best in either a ballad or a dance track – Alexander O’Neal has built up a reputation as one of the world’s finest contemporary soul singers.
Alexander has had numerous hit singles/albums including Saturday Love, If You Were Here Tonight, A Broken Heart Can Mend, Fa ke, Criticise, Never Knew Love Like This, Saturday Love, All True Man, Shame on Me, Sentimental, Love Makes No Sense and many more!! This powerhouse singer has cemented his reputation as one of the greatest artists of his generation, performing and outselling at venues around the world.
Alexander certainly contributed to making the 2011 Black Achievers Awards a very successful event!!
Tickets were ONLY £35.00 and includes a 3 course meal, award ceremony and entertainment by Alexander O'Neal and other local Liverpool artists.
For the 2011 awards over 450 guests packed the Great Hall in one of the countries most prestigious buildings to celebrate the achievements of some of Merseyside's unsung heroes who contribute immensely to the City Region's rich diversity and culture.

- Legacy Award - Herbie Higgins
